Week ONE…

I hope that everyone has had an awesome week. I hope that everyone had the chance to go to the Missions Conference at church this week. Today I want to talk about week one of SHARE JESUS WITHOUT FEAR.

In week one we discussed the question, “Have you ever had the opportunity to share your faith but didn’t?” I admit this question hits the heart of the matter, doesn’t it? Some of the reasons that came up during class was,

  • Fear of rejection
  • I don’t know enough
  • What if people get offended?
  • I’m uncomfortable sharing at work
  • I’m afraid my life isn’t what it ought to be
  • What if I am ridiculed and persecuted for sharing?
  • I’m not good at evangelism

To answer these questions I am going to quote the workbook for a minute. “God provides the opportunity to witness, He promises His power to help us. Yet we simply say no. Because of fear, our no is accompanied by much defense and justification; but to say no to God for any reason is a sin.” The significance of this quote is this, We need a change of heart and become obedient to God. The Bible tells us in 1st Peter 3:15-16 that we are to be ready to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for our hope that we have. So all the excuses in the world aren’t good enough to NOT do what God has commanded each of us to do and that is to Share Jesus!!

If we don’t share our faith, our friends may never understand the gospel and may never have the opportunity to be led by the Holy Spirit to believe.

What I would like for you to do is read and study 1st Peter 3:15-16 and let God speak to you this week.

See everyone Sunday!
